Our Promise

Real care. Real respect. A real home.

Choosing care for a parent is one of the hardest decisions a family ever makes. You want safety, dignity, and the assurance that someone will answer when your mom presses the call button at 3 a.m.

Sterling Estates exists because large facilities too often miss what matters most: being known, being heard, and being treated like family. Our six-bed homes mean every resident is seen, every day.

“I built Sterling Estates to give families peace of mind — and to give our elders more than just a bed.” Sterling Jones · Founder & Licensed Paramedic
Why Families Choose Us

The care you'd give if you could be there every hour.

Small by design. Staffed by people who remember your parent's story. Led by a medical professional who knows how to respond when seconds matter.

Paramedic-Led Care

Our founder is a licensed paramedic. That means emergency-trained judgment, faster response times, and a team built on medical precision — not corporate checklists.

A True Home, Not a Facility

Six private bedrooms. A quiet residential neighborhood. Home-cooked meals at a shared table. Your loved one lives in a house that feels like one — because it is one.

24/7 Awake Staffing

Someone is always awake. Always nearby. Medication, bathroom help, or simply a calming voice at night — your parent is never alone when it matters.

1:3 Daytime Ratio

One caregiver for every three residents during the day. No rushing. No waiting. Just attentive, unhurried one-on-one care, every hour of the day.

Transparent Family Communication

Regular updates, open-door visits, and a founder you can actually reach on the phone. You'll never wonder how your loved one's day went.

Specialized Memory Care

Staff trained in dementia and Alzheimer's support use routine, redirection, and compassion to protect dignity and reduce confusion — in a quiet, secure environment.

Bringing medical precision & heart to residential care.

“I spent years responding to emergencies in homes where seniors were alone, overwhelmed, or left behind. I built Sterling Estates so no family in Contra Costa County has to feel that way again.”

As a licensed paramedic, Sterling Jones brings a level of medical training, urgency, and compassion you rarely find in senior care. Every home he operates reflects that standard: trained awake staff, rapid response protocols, and a culture where residents are treated like family — because to us, they are.

Questions Families Ask

What you need to know before you call.

What is a residential care home (RCFE) — and how is it different from assisted living?
An RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly) is a state-licensed home — usually six residents or fewer — providing personal care, meals, and supervision in a real house, not a commercial building. Compared to a large assisted living facility, RCFEs offer a much higher staff-to-resident ratio, more personalized care, and a quieter, family-style environment.
Can Sterling Estates care for a parent with dementia or Alzheimer's?
Yes. Our staff is trained in dementia and Alzheimer's support. We use redirection, predictable routines, and compassionate interaction to reduce confusion and protect dignity. Our home environment is particularly well-suited to residents who become overwhelmed in large facilities.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on your loved one's specific care needs, chosen residence, and length of stay. We're happy to walk you through costs transparently on a short phone call — including comparisons to 24/7 in-home care and larger facilities. Call (925) 286-4099 for a same-day quote.
Do you offer hospice or end-of-life care?
Yes. We coordinate directly with hospice providers so residents can remain in the home they know, surrounded by staff who love them, through the end of life.
How quickly can my parent move in?
When a bed is available, we can often complete the intake and assessment process within a few days. Because we're small, we also maintain a short interest list — call us and we'll tell you exactly where things stand.
Can we tour before deciding?
Absolutely. We offer private, unhurried tours seven days a week. Bring your questions, meet the staff, and see the home. No sales pressure, ever.
